November 4, 2001 - "To the Sisters" from josh
well, in prayers and discussions with the family on Union's campus, i would like to share something that is close to my heart and the hearts of so many on this campus...
"A wife of noble character who can find? she is worth far more than rubies." - proverbs 31:10
don't sell yourself short. my sisters, God has created you as amazing vessels and instruments of His love. you are created for God Almighty (Alpha and Omega, Wonderful Counselor...)'s glory. guard your hearts. we guys have a hard time realizing the fact that it's so very easy to give your heart out like a business card. or even to someone that you've known forever and it's more like giving away your favorite teddy bear. then they return the teddy bear and it is shredded to pieces. well, allow me one more analogy. there once was a poor girl who met a prince. this prince swept her off of her feet and they were soon engaged. the pauper girl returned to her home to find something, ANYTHING, to wear to the wedding. but, the only thing she could find was a tar covered, tattered dress. she looked at it a long time and finally resolved that she would wear it because, after all, it was hers. well, when she arrived at the wedding, she found that the Prince's Father had provided a beautiful white sparkling gown. the Prince told her that she had only to put away the rags she had and put on the new dress. well, here we humans are. God has given us eternal life. he has changed us from the inside out. but, sometimes we wanna put on that old garment. it doesn't mean our relationship with God is gone, but it sure makes our marriage to Him pretty useless. and we do this with our emotions. my dear sisters, you are so wonderfully made. Give the Lord your heart and let NO ONE take it away from Him. when the time comes, God, according to His desire, will provide to you a servant who wants nothing but to seek the Lord passionately with you. wait for him. don't sell out to the lies that Satan has thrown out. there are brothers praying for you and best of all your Savior has already died for you. the battle is over. Father has won and not only has he given us a new gown, but we're part of His family.

November 8, 2001 - "Kill me, Heal Me" from josh
break my bones and reset me
piece by piece You break me
pick up the cross cause it's killin time
how can i scream when the pain is such a release
such a release, i get the courage
to pick up the nails cause it's killin time
kill me, heal me
(skillet)
they ride all around town
get me to believe what they found
they knock on my door
saying Jesus is not the Lord
pray to buddha every day
put us to shame in every way
muslim fasting forty days
we can't lift our hands in praise
God deserves more than we're giving Him
observe all traditions
while we sleep late on Easter morning
they fall on their face
while we just abound in grace
WORTHY, every tongue will confess that Jesus is the Lord
(disciple)
in my brokenness You are lifted up
in my humbleness You're seated on the throne
in weakness You make me strong
for You are the Lord

November 10, 2001 - "Luke 18: 22-25" from josh
One day Jesus said to His disciples, "Let's go over to the other side of the lake." So the got into a boat and set out. As they sailed, He fell asleep. A squall came down on the lake, so that the boat was being swamped, and they were in great danger. The disciples went and woke Him, saying, "Master, Master, we're going to drown!" He got up and rebuked the wind and the raging waters; the storm subsided, and all was calm. "Where is your faith?" He asked His disciples. In fear and amazement they asked one another, "Who is this? He commands even the winds and the water, and they obey Him." (NIV)
what's your storm
